Landmine detection using a combined inductive/capacitive method

About the project

We have developed a low-cost electrical imaging sensor for landmine detection and have made major improvements in its ability to recognise the depth of an object. We have also developed a new 3D simulation modelling package that will analyse the performance of the new sensor.

Simultaneously, we have been working on a new technique for better detection of electrical conductivity, which we hope will allow us eventually to develop a dual sensor landmine detector. As we near the end of 2016 we are on the way to completing all the software engineering as well as the design of the sensor. In order to prepare for Phase 2 of the project we have now begun to develop the instrumentation hardware.
